Fascia Board Installation & Repair
Fascia sits at the drip edge, which makes it the first board on the house to meet every gallon of water leaving your roof. It is also the board carrying your gutters. When it goes soft, the gutter goes with it.
We replace fascia and sub-fascia, correct the roof-edge detail that caused the failure, and rehang gutters on material that will actually hold a fastener.

Siding Installation & Replacement

01How do I know if there is rot behind my siding?
Soft spots, staining that keeps coming back, paint that will not hold, and siding that moves when you press it. The reliable answer is probing, which is why we do it before quoting rather than discovering it after the work is sold.
02Can you install new siding over the existing material?
Physically yes, and we generally advise against it. Covering the old surface seals in whatever moisture is behind it and hides the sheathing at the exact moment you finally have access to inspect it. It buys a few years at the cost of the wall.
03What holds up best in salt air?
The material matters less than the detailing and the fasteners. Salt air attacks fastenings and the cut edges of everything, so we specify corrosion-resistant fixings and seal cut ends. A premium product fastened with the wrong nails still fails first at the nail.
04Do gutters have to come off to replace fascia?
Yes — gutters hang on the fascia, so they come down with it and go back on the new board. It is also the one moment when the rafter tails behind are visible, so that is when they get checked.
05Do you repair the structure behind, or only the surface?
Both, in that order. We cut back to sound material, rebuild the sheathing and framing, correct whatever let the water in, and only then install the finish. Residing over wet sheathing is a postponement, not a repair.
